Pros

Complete autonomy and freedom to work on projects, as long as they are aligned with the company goals. I was a remote employee, and I loved being proactive and collaborative across such a big org. As long as you deliver good work, folks respect you and gives you more leeway. There is trust and accountability in the team.

Cons

In spite of receiving good feedback from my team and peers, I was fired without notice one week before my probation ended. My direct manager was left out of the loop, but instead a senior leadership jumped on a call with me, to say thank you and goodbye. The senior leadership had no knowledge of my work or contributions. My direct manager and I were left in the dark, despite them having made the termination decision well in advance without ever communicating to us. As a background, there has been a reorg for my team, and I proactively searched for other opportunities in the org. Instead of supporting my search for internal opportunities during the reorg and a potential interest from another team to have me, the senior leadership chose to terminate me rather than risk losing their headcount. This was one of the most unprofessional and humiliating experience for me. It's a pity that internal politics took precedence over employee development and product success. I'm sad this didn't work out in spite of me giving it all, but I wish the org. the best of luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the time you spent at Dynatrace. We’re glad to hear that you felt trusted and empowered in your role, and that you were able to collaborate across the organization in meaningful ways. We’re truly sorry to hear how your departure was handled. Your feedback highlights a breakdown in communication and alignment that does not reflect the standards we strive for. Due to evolving business needs, Dynatrace made a few team adjustments to better align with future priorities. These changes were not a reflection of individual performance, dedication, or contributions. We remain committed to supporting our employees through transitions, including identifying internal opportunities and redeploying affected team members whenever possible—though unfortunately, not all transitions can be accommodated. We recognize the importance of transparency, leadership accountability, and respectful treatment during times of change. Your feedback will be shared with the appropriate teams to help us improve how we manage these transitions and better support our people. Thank you again for your contributions and for sharing your perspective. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

-Competitive compensation -Stock options -Flexible working hours Solid benefits package (private healthcare, etc);

Cons

Dynatrace might seem appealing for those looking to add a well-known brand to their resume. However, if you’re hoping for real professional growth, strong engineering culture, or meaningful mentorship, you’ll likely face serious obstacles. There is little to no engineering culture, and opportunities for learning or mentoring are almost nonexistent. Many employees are demotivated and show no initiative beyond the bare minimum. The leadership tends to combine passive-aggressive behavior with a lack of both soft and technical skills — likely a result of long-standing negative selection in engineering roles. If you're comfortable with favoritism, political games, pleasing management, and avoiding problems rather than solving them, you might actually thrive here — since these seem to define the core of the company culture. Achievements often go unrecognized, and promotions tend to be based on personal favoritism rather than merit. If you’re someone who values honest work and professional growth, prepare for a difficult and demoralizing experience in a toxic and hypocritical environment that will try to undermine your efforts and force you to conform.

Pros

Job security, pay, unlimited PTO.

Cons

Management. Zero career plan for you. I live in a bubble there under my manager. No boss of his to talk to. He puts on a professional facade, but he doesn't care about doing good work, being organized or following through with things. Its really bad. Silos. Way too many teams doing the same things and no leaders creating a funnel of direction for those silos. No one knows what the other hand is doing. R&D is probs the best place to be for job satisfaction.

Thanks for providing your feedback. We appreciate you sharing your concerns about management and career growth, as we are committed to fostering transparency, collaboration, and professional development across all teams. This is not the standard of leadership we strive for, and we work diligently to prevent these challenges. To support this, we recently introduced Dynatrace Elements of Leadership, a learning resource created in partnership with our leadership team to reinforce strong managerial practices. We’ve also implemented a new career development model and performance enablement initiative to provide a clear path for employees to reach their career goals. While we encourage open discussions with your manager, we recognize the challenges this situation may present. If connecting with your direct lead feels difficult, we encourage you to reach out to your HRBP or leadership for support. We are committed to continuous improvement and fostering transparency, which is why we host private listening sessions with our Chief People Officer to ensure employees' voices are heard.
