Pros

The platform is industry leading, while being a competitive space. Time will tell if Dynatrace will still be able to hold onto their market position. The total compensation was fairly strong for many years which people stuck around for. Flexible working models were an added plus, but have gotten more restrictive as all companies are going back to face to face work.

Cons

The culture of collaboration we once knew has been replaced by a culture of blame. New, uninspiring leaders have turned teamwork into a game of finger-pointing, where the goal is no longer to improve together, but to find fault in others. Leaders brand their work as "new" simply by tearing down what came before it. We're told we've "been doing this all wrong," but we're offered no guidance, no coaching...just a reset button that allows them to claim credit for the same work under a different name. The work is no longer about strategic planning or thoughtful execution—it's a series of chaotic fire drills with unrealistic expectations. Projects are initiated without clear goals or a defined scope, leaving us to piece together the details under immense pressure. This isn't agility; it's a lack of foresight and a symptom of leadership's failure to plan, creating a constant state of urgency and burning out the very people they rely on to actually do the work. Our internal processes are a study in chaos, especially within HR. The "real vibes, real people" tagline is a joke in an organization where managers belittle employees without consequence. HR has become a spectator, offering no protection and taking zero action to address legitimate issues. It's not a question of if a lawsuit will happen, but when. Career progression is a one-way street, open only to those from a specific company in this new regime. We are forced to watch as the organization is built on a foundation of incompetence and favoritism, where loyalty to a select few matters more than what's best for the company. It's not a business strategy, it's a social club, and it's infuriating to watch the business suffer for it.

Pros

Recently went IPO over the summer.

Cons

The IPO doesn't mean anything to 99% of employees, since none of us got stock options, nor did they roll out a Stock Purchase Plan while I was there. Which underscores the company does not care about its employees; there are no performance, reviews, no bonuses, no cost of living increases. Several members on my team received technical certifications and even higher ed degrees but with no recognition or salary increase. It went from being an environment of innovation, to a culture of "yes-men", micromanagement and groveling (literally, I saw VP's take a groveling posture to the C-levels when they approach/speak to them).

Since Dynatrace went public, we are working on a global ESPP program where all employees can participate as a new benefit. As far as your comments on performance reviews, we do in fact compensation reviews each quarter and believe in real-time feedback over annual performance reviews. Your opinions on management and leaders is something we take very seriously and will be addressed to the appropriate people. We appreciate you being candid with your feedback. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Worst Decision I ever Made

Pros

The location was cool but after you walk in the door of the office the "cool" factor was over.

Cons

Was let go after no warning and no reason. Left a job and took a pay cut and then got let go. There was no structure no guidance, and no real way to succeed. The leadership was very poor especially the way that the CCO leads the Detroit branch if you can even call it lead. Seems like decisions are made there with a sock tied around everyones eyes.
