Pros

- Great Culture - Develop their new hires and professionals - Large enough that they offer many different opportunities to advance your career - Look out for all their employees with all-inclusive initiatives

Cons

- Don't pay competitively - Aggressive hire and downsize policies - In a fairly remote area of Indiana - Need to do a better job of training upcoming leaders or evaluating them

Pros

Good training provided. They let you get on with the job without interference. Dynamic and exciting place to work.

Cons

'Them and us attitude' between management and shop floor a throwback to the 1970's with over-manning and disgruntled workers that often have zero aptitude for building engines. Clueless back covering 'supervisors' and hopeless ex Leyland managers that would struggle to change a set of spark plugs run the show. Very cliquey company - if your face doesn't fit or you want to make changes they will find a way to 'manage you out' to keep the status quo and the cushy jobs.....the attitude is 'stich or get stitched-up'. HR culture punishing people for being 2 minutes late. Those that just want to get the job done and improve things get shafted by pedalling along people that know how to play the system. If Daventry made washing machines or motor cars it would have been shut down years ago - lucky for them they are in a niche market.

Pros

Very good company, flexible, lots of emphasis on diversity, community involvement, sustainability, 6S etc. People are great. Company takes good care of people in need.

Cons

Company sees power generation entity as a sales channel for selling parent company's product I.e. engine. Hence, investment into developing generator products that serves efficiently various market applications was restricted for long time. So, the company is dealing with lots of complexity and high cost. 1 lay off on a average/year. Highly matrixed organization and one has to deal with lots of politics to grow within the company.
