If you're in Austin don't bother

Pros

Some smart, decent people. Great product.

Cons

If you're in the Austin area, I would consider literally any of the other million tech companies down here. Don't be fooled by the shiny new downtown office. There's too much tech competition to settle for perks that are slim to none, a noncompetitive salary and commission package, and a weird, "macho" work environment.

Thank you for your feedback. We are disheartened to read that your experience working in the Austin office hasn’t met the high expectations CrowdStrike has for its employees. Given the rapid global growth and increasing success CrowdStrike has experienced, some growing pains are to be expected. However, we always want to do whatever we can to ensure the employee experience here is positive, meaningful and fulfilling, so that we can maintain the great company culture for which CrowdStrike is known. Your concerns are important to us and our management team has recently taken action regarding some other complaints received from the Austin office. We can assure you that all the points you and others raised have been diligently addressed and resolved.

Pros

Everyone leaves their webcams off during zoom meetings.

Cons

This is a toxic environment with no accountability. Ableist language, mocking disabled veterans and those with cognitive disabilities, has been used by senior team members as well as leadership. I, foolishly, raised my concerns about that with my manager in private only to later be accused of trying to spin the situation to my benefit (huh?). As far as I'm aware, there's no other avenues for reporting events like this that don't involve me risking my job any further. Very big "old boys' club" culture. There's very little diversity and a ton of nepotism hires. Management is aloof, typically unresponsive, and uninterested in leading. I've also found that they often lack the emotional intelligence, tact especially, to manage people effectively. the unlimited PTO is a lie; I had more time off while working at a grocery store. There is no culture of learning, and the "rockstar" engineers get preferential treatment.

Pros

The pay and benefits are very competitive.

Cons

Essentially the company has a "kiss up, punch down" culture. Leadership in the business routinely promote and reward more senior contributors who look busy and tell them nice things, rarely those who get the work done or contribute to a better workplace. The leaders and senior IC's who have been with the company longest behave like a cartel, having private conversations with business impact excluding newer contributors whose voices would be important to include. Multiple reports of misconduct instigated by senior contributors against junior contributors went unanswered by leadership.
