Pros

- Wonderful for fashionistas - Cafeteria can be exciting, and is aesthetically pleasing - Near a lot of subways

Cons

- Self-promotion wins over competence - People take pride in the nastiness of the culture - Print publishing in 2011, really? - Ultimately, you are working for the Newhouse family; nothing more and nothing less

Pros

Excellent resume builder, amazing benefits, the people are all very similar and fun to work with. There are awesome perks such as free magazines (TONS of them, as Conde Nast publishes so many), discounts and freebies from clients, events, & a ton of cool Conde Nast schwag.

Cons

As an assistant, there is absolutely no room for growth. The company describes it as a "launching point." Unless you want to move to NYC, there is no way to move up internally. However, if you do a good job, your manager can help you get a job with a big name client (i.e. GAP, Levi's, etc.) and you can come back once you are a seasoned sales associate.
