Pros

Wow, u am struggling to think of a pro...free coffee? Window seat? Don't need raise my hand to ask permission to use restroom?

Cons

Senior management is a joke and out of touch with reality. It's a do as I say not as I do culture. The workload and expectations are impracticable. You cannot expect employees to work excessively and produce a quality product. Existing staff who have been there for a while know the game so they do less work and still manage to get similar raises and bonuses has those who work harder and longer hours. The company is not flexible and there's no trust in their employees. Working from home is viewed as a vacation from the office and is not encouraged.

Pros

I had worked for Chubb more years than I thought was possible. The old Chubb had great mgrs that would be great mentors and cared about you. The dept I was in was very collaborative and we ended up performing miracles. The IQ's in my dept alone were off the board. I really liked working with other very intelligent people. But, when I turned a certain age, I was forced out. It was right before the merger. The pay and benefits were good. But all the pay cannot replace the piece of mind that comes from working for a great company.

Cons

The person who said that Chubb facilitated an unfriendly culture and atmosphere was dead on right. There were people that worked there that were nothing more than bullies who seemed to run the place and get promoted. In the last few years I worked there turned for the worse. The one who said that most people there was on anti-depressants were right as well, especially the one giving you the reviews. The goals were made to be unreachable. If you ever did reach your goals you were met with some sort of old 6 month old incident that was forgotten about that would be blown out of context purposely so that you would not get promoted. A company that large now would basically eliminate any competition as well as TRY to create a slave culture. I think that's their real purpose and I know them well since I worked for them so long. But, just do the research yourself like googling them. But, all of this depended on who you worked for and how much influence they had on upper management. So, your whole career there was spent kissing up to these people and you were not rated on your actual talents. Thankfully, I got out and work for a decent company now:)
