Pros

The people are some of the best I've ever worked with.

Cons

A divisive and vicious culture within the "Innovation and Digital" departments. Very poor compensation in comparison to other banks. Poor work life balance - a lot of the new management spoke against having overtime but kept asking people to work late while management went drinking every night. Blame culture A lot of mistakes were made and there was little confidence anyone learned.

Pros

On boarding takes place at a central location. Good instructors. They try to place you at a branch that is close to home. They accommodated my unique schedule requests which I needed for child care requirements.

Cons

Don't take this job if you are not comfortable calling random CIBC clients to try to schedule an appointment to have them come into the branch. The focus on sales maybe higher than the other big banks due to the fact that CIBC has less walk in traffic.
