Pros

As a means to retire. The money starts OKish and stays OKish as you progress your "career" here.

Cons

Most of the company has its head in the sand, only mediocrity is rewarded. Everything about BT is fake, everything is all talk and no walk. Performance reviews don't dwell on what you have done, but on generic corporate values. Most people in the company at all levels replace real comments and speeches with a sea of trendy buzzwords. You will never hear about "something important to discuss", you will only hear about "a key enabler moving forwards".

Pros

You can be lazy and get away with it

Cons

Uncompetitive salaries Salary bands trending down instead of up with inflation Impossible targets to lower bonuses. Zero bonuses this year. Zero opportunities for career progression Terrifying trend of reducing trust from management No flexibility (Back to office mandate)

Pros

Decent benefits - reimbursement of internet, phone bill every month. Annual gifts are given. Purchase of mobile every 3 years at 50% reimbursement. Car allowance is separate from CTC so good option for anyone looking to buy car and get tax benefits on fuel, maintenance. Work-life balance depends on the team you are part of.

Cons

No long-term employee strategy in place - some roles are insourced but still heavily reliant on vendors. Have never seen any organization where vendors have so much influence on senior leaders. Management changes and decisions are frequent, every few months leading to changes in teams and that directly impacts employees in those teams. Have seen many being terminated (with severance of course) or asked to look for other roles. Would not recommend anyone joining the organization if you are looking for stability; its okay to join in short term if the role is suitable.
