      Great jumping off point for a renewable energy career

      Pros

      Generous paid time off and 401k. Lots of hard workers with a collaborative focus within the individual contributor ranks. Good place to hone renewable energy skillset.

      Cons

      If you are not Spanish or an ExPat, your longevity, if you want to move up, will be limited. Most leadership positions are filled by non-competitive means unrelated to the eligible pool of applicants.

      Unprofessional management, incredibly low pay for your position, disorganized work process. Management has never worked in a planning department before, so they have no idea what they are trying to do. During this year, 6 people left the company, a total of 8 people left the department.

      A former industry leader getting in its own way

      Cons

      Revolving door of leadership at AVANGRID level (CEO, Deputy CEO, CFO, CHRO, Chief Communication and Sustainability Officer) all left in the first half of 2022. Many key departures in leadership roles at Renewables and other Operating Companies, endless attrition, gaps in leadership throughout the business, lack of succession planning and growth opportunities, under-market and non-competitive salary, many new and old employees are leaving due to toxic management that has gone unaddressed. In my experience, performance management is less based on performance and more on meeting quotas for bonus payout.
