Pros

Conveniences of a modern office... - free coffee & soda - Ice Machines - state-of-the-art Vending options - ATM - Mail Room

Cons

Horribly unqualified & unprofessional Supervisors/Managers are allowed to harass and verbally abuse employees with no repercussions. Harassment & a hostile work environment is tolerated; feels very much like a bad Mean Girls spinoff. Other departments just look the other way. They may preach about ministering to the poor, but they offer no support for employees subject to such abuse. Religious-based hypocrisy at its best.

Pros

good benefits, pay; as a faith-based organization, they are opportunities for personal and professional development.

Cons

The company has become so large and seem to be so concerned in plastering the "Ascension" name on everything that individual hospitals are losing their identity. The centralization of services combined with the massive outsourcing has resulting in very few people in your local hospital actually on the hospital's payroll. They "indoctrinate" you to beleive in the "mission" but do not live it with their employees or the people in the towns they are suppose to be serving

Pros

Salary is competitive, Benefits are competitive. Possibility of learning.

Cons

Only thing you need to be successful here is , how good you are to become dirty player politically. How much you can flatter. Training opportunities are None . Managers will not pay you for any training, Even will send their favorite people to trainings even they are not part of that job. Force you to enter the bogus training hours. Competencies are not required , only flattering. Most of the people are promoted from ground level and they don't know how to behave or work like professional. Personal comments, talking on the back of each other, calling bad names and humiliate other people. Bosses are bullies . Will not let you have piece of mind. If you live on east side, will force you to work on west side. No team work, colleagues will tell on you to get closer to managers. Employees are forced to work during their family time with no comp time.
