Pros

Great culture of innovation. Company has been a technology leader for decades. Overall compensation and benefits package is good but compensation has fallen significantly behind the market on more than one occasion in the past few years (both in the US, East and West coast sites and EU - Limerick) and reactive measures were needed to remedy this. Of all the competitors in this business - National Semi, Linear Technology, Maxim, Intersil, Fairchild and TI - ADI is easily the BEST company to work for.

Cons

The business strategy has failed to grow the business beyond $2.5B in the past 5 years and this stagnation has put pressure on margins which in turn has forced a working climate of doing more with less. In addition the stock options grants have not netted any value to employees in that timeframe. In addition option grants have become very targeted and the great broad based grants are history.

Pros

Flexible hours. Great work-life balance. Analog really takes care of their employees through both of these and couples them with great pay and benefits. Analog provides engineers with the ability to work on a variety of projects without the constant pressure from management. This helps foster a creative environment.

Cons

Flat hierarchy. A majority of upper management are composed of older, experienced workers... most of whom have been in the same positions for many years. Seems that these positions will not be available to other employees unless new ones are created or people leave. This makes it difficult for younger employees to move up.

Pros

good engineers, management is engineering-oriented, relatively accessible and informal style of management. Good fields of technology to be in, working culture is relaxed and low-stress compared to other companies. Flexible hours and management lets you take personal time off without hassles. Layoffs are not common, and management tries to minimize layoffs even in bad times. If u like a slow-paced style of work and like to get home by 6, u came to the right place.

Cons

Poor employee interaction with management, poor communication between employees and management. Career opportunities for growth leave a lot to be desired. Not a good place for the very ambitious, and not a good place if u want to fast-track ur career. A lot of employees tend to get stuck in rut and don't get too many chances to expand their skill-set.
