Pros

For analog circuits, ADI is one of the best companies to work for. Environment is good, people are technically strong and you feel motivated to grow technically. Resources for learning are great. There is a whole range of circuits from amplifiers, comparators, switched capacitor circuits, ADC DAC which you can learn here in ADI and which will be valuable in Industry. Design cycle is short usually 6 months and you can be the owner of several chips in few years.

Cons

I think you have to spend at least 4-5 years before management seriously starts awarding you. Compensation wise not the best company to work for, but is fairly competitive. Though the environment is pretty relaxed but sometimes the deadlines are fairly tight.

Pros

The people there are great. The atmosphere is challenging but relaxed. You will be given a lot of responsibility if you want it. The work environment is not overly formal, and when you work in the lab the cress come can be very relaxed. Everyone I worked with was extremely friendly and made going to work every day a joy. I was also given a lot to do as a co-op and trusted with projects with large expenses and tight budgets. I was always encouraged by my managers.

Cons

Higher ups can be very demanding at times. Deadlines are sometimes unrealistic. This can be positive or negative depending on how you look at it. This can push you to get your work done or make you lazy if you feel as if you will not make the deadline anyway.

Pros

Analog Devices employees some of the best and brightest engineers. There is a definite emphasis on the engineering aspect of the work (as opposed to the marketing aspect). Everyone seems very happy to be working there, and the consensus is that when people leave for other companies, they'll probably be back in a few years. I've seen it happen several times and I'm not surprised that it's true.

Cons

The company becomes too conservative in times of hardship, to the point where it can be difficult to get approval for items that are required. There seems to be little specific direction given by the senior management, only generalities that don't seem to point us anywhere. Also, there appears to be too much emphasis on the Wall Street performance metrics and meeting the numbers for the next quarter.
