Pros

You are given real commercial responsibility from day one and are therefore rewarded through bonuses from the off. The culture and benefits for a relatively young company were superb. All expense company trips to Ibiza, Budapest, Lucca, Marrakech, Rotterdam, Barcelona and Oktoberfest to name a few. To give perspective to that, in my 1 year there I went on three of these trips. Entrepreneurial guest speakers and mixers as well as working with 2 proven business successes meant there was a wealth of resources for the entrepreneurial minded typically employed by the company. Work-life balance is great and completely at your discretion. There was never unnecessary face time, however if you did stay long hours, it would likely translate to a higher outputs and reflected in your bonus. The biggest pro is certainly the very intelligent, personable and driven people you work with and meet, all the way through to the two founders who you interact with on a day-to-day basis. Project variety and frequency was considerable and allowed direct contact with industry CEO's and leaders.

Cons

The day-to-day role isn't very technical and relatively difficult to export anywhere other than a few select industries and roles, however the softer skills and wider confidence gained more than makes up for that. Benefits outside of pay and party culture are minimal, but I suppose some would prefer the extra cash. Any other cons are typically derived from a mismatch of expectations due to prospective candidates not understanding the day-to-day role alongside the company not providing enough clarity at times.
