      Pros

      If you invest the time and energy in your career at AVL, the rewards are available. Plenty of opportunity for personal growth, travel, and ultimately gaining an understanding of where the automotive industry is headed.

      Career advancement opportunities outside the head office in Austria are limited

      Pros

      The company maintains the high quality in automotive industry and it is fun to work for. Lots of opportunities for growing your knowledge and learning from experienced colleagues. Training for workers is high on their agenda. Great facilities, friendly and intercultural atmosphere.

      Canteen has potential for improvement.

      Leading technical experts, incompetent top management

      Pros

      - Very smart technical experts, nice colleagues - Relatively little pressure on profitability. Strong focus on technology leadership: Endless resources for development. Good if you are a technical expert and want to do R&D. - Cultural diversity (on the working level, whereas the HQ management is most German/Austrian)

      Cons

      - People with no leadership skills or business understanding are promoted to managers. - Top management unbelievably incompetent (with few exceptions) - Promotions are not always in line with performance. Yes-people succeed. Office politics play an important role if you want to climb up the corporate ladder. - Very conservative in what it takes to gender. No women in leading positions.
