Pros

+ Great benefits + Relocation + Housing Stipend

Cons

- Overwhelming each day with trainings back to back - Next to no time to actually make calls - High stress The running joke at AT&T is that it stands for "at this time." Lots of my more tenured program mates have said that the reduce the base pay by about $15K when you're deployed to the field market after 4 months, forcing folks to have to rely heavily on commissions. Expect lots of last minute changes in the program. It feels like they reel you in, then hit you with the old bait and switch. This program is highly stressful and requires you to do extra prep time after hours or else you risk falling behind. You need to have your time management skills down to the second. If you don't perform, you are cooked. Simple. If you're not ready for that, then sales isn't for you.

No Job Security

Pros

Compensation and benefits are aligned to market. Immediate mid-level management is supportive and hard working.

Cons

No job security, employees are not valued. Executives say all the right things but don’t operate by them. Morale is very low at the moment. Executive leadership is disrespectful and unprofessional. Over the last year they have begun eliminating people based on where they are located instead of performance. Then created new teams based on those locations instead of skillset.

Going downhill fast

Pros

Pay is competitive. Opportunities to move around the business.

Cons

I worked for AT&T for over a decade. Came in as a college hire with aspirations for advancement and career growth. Over the years I quickly realized how little management cares about real talent and intelligence for promotion. Instead they focus on the biggest suck ups and loudest in the room. High performance is not rewarded with advancement instead you’re handed an ever growing unrealistic workload as management knows you’ll do the best job and will take advantage of it. Meanwhile the slackers sit around getting paid with little to do. They’ve seen shifted to 3 days of week in the office and force relocated L2 managers or laid them off if they were willing to go to Dallas. The Dallas office itself is nice, but the surrounding area is a ghost town full of homeless people - completely unsafe. They treat those in hub cities like children tracking amount of hours in the office and badge swipes. Leadership team is horrible and doesn’t care about the people at all. I could keep going, but I don’t have all day. All in all a horrible place to work. I’ve left and haven’t looked back!! Stay away!!
