I applied online. I interviewed at Upwork (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2021
Interview
Several phone calls and emails, then a Zoom interview. Both the decision makers indicated interest and moved things to the next step. Took their editing and proofreading test, yet, never heard back. Contacted them twice, and failed to receive a response. Typical ghosting by a big company run by people that are unprofessional, incompetent, and have zero respect for applicants and their time.

Question 1
Beyond the typical interview questions and direct questions regarding the position, they asked me to take an editing and SEO test. I completed it days before it was due, and was told I did a good job.
I applied online. I interviewed at Upwork in Aug 2021
Interview
Pretty typical interview process - wanted lots of input from team and stakeholders - which tells me they are a collaborative company (or have trouble make decisions individually). Multiple interviews drag out the process somewhat.

Question 1
“What was your greatest accomplishment by the time you were 18?” - not really relevant, but you could tell it was a favorite - with personal relevance - question by the Interviewer.
Reached out to the hiring manager directly inquiring about the role - who then referred me to the recruiter handling the role.
The first recruiter call was brief and outlined what to expect for the rest of the interview process.
RED FLAG below:
After following up with the recruiter who mentioned she would get back to me within 2 days here are the exact words (interesting given it was a sales role)
"Thank you for your follow up. The team has been busy, in conferences, etc. and as such, we have not been able to keep up with your multiple layers of correspondence and follow up to our team.
At this time, we are electing not to move forward with your candidacy.
I wish you the best of luck in your search"
