I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (Sídney) in May 2019
Interview
Timed online assessment. Asked technical data science questions and some SQL questions. Overall it was quite difficult - possibly harder than the job itself! I didn't make it to the interview stage.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
Applied online and everything was smooth on the recruiter's end. The process had two parts.
1. Part 1 (coding and case study): The interviewer was unprofessional. Background noise sometimes made it hard to understand what he was saying especially when there was an accent. It might have gone smoother if he didn't interrupt me so frequently. Most experienced interviewers conduct case studies like a discussion which I find better.
2. Part 2 (quantitative knowledge): This interview was very respectful and allowed me to finish my answers and head my reasonings. As long as you are familiar with the basic quants, you can do well. No trick questions and facts.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Uber in Aug 2021
Interview
First, I did a 30-minute screening with the recruiter, then did a take home assignment after couple of weeks, and then after more than two months they reached out for technical interview. The position I applied for was filled at them time of technical interview so I interviewed with hiring manager of another team. After submitting the take home assignment and scheduling the technical interview it took two months and I got no updates in this two months. During the whole process responsible recruiter for my application was changes several times and every time I was talking to someone new.
