Interview
I responded to an online advertisement on Seek.com.au. There were several stages of questions going back and forth via emails, followed by a phone interview. Test documents followed, and then the account as set up.

It is all online, so no interview. You just need to pass the English Transcriber Training and Exam which can be a little difficult unless you study the Style Guide carefully. The audio samples they give you during the exam can be a bit tricky, so it's up to your best judgment to know which techniques to use from the guidelines. It took me two tries to pass! But once you are in the system there is a lot of work and other exams you can take to make more money and get more work such as accent exams, QA exams, etc.

Interview
Very disappointing automated exam process.
Because I'm an accomplished transcriber, I read the 31-page Style Guide before taking the Exam. Immediately got 100% on ten Style Guide questions.
First time on transcription test, failed two of three, with 80+% accuracy. On 2nd attempt, failed all 3 transcription tests with 80+% accuracy.
Transcribe Me! Isn't looking for talent, you just need to know how to format text for their automated system review, based on their 31-page 2014 Style Guide (it's NOT about accuracy/grammer/punctuation/speed).
Now I know why Transcribe Me! doesn't respond to questions on why/how applicants Fail their hiring exam.
Test transcripts poor quality recordings are a real example of what one can expect to receive as work.
