The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TransPerfect (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2011
Interview
Didn't last very long at all, perhaps 10 minutes. The recruiter wasn't particularly friendly, but wasn't rude; he seemed like he was preoccupied or in a rush. During the entire interview process, I could hear him typing out my answers. His neutrality/preoccupation made me extra nervous.
He asked me questions such as:
- Where do I see myself in 5 years
- What do I like about the company
- Why do I want to be in sales
- Why do I want to quit my current position
- What are my strengths/weaknesses
The process took 3 days. I interviewed at TransPerfect in Sep 2011
Interview
I applied to TransPerfect trough my school's career site in July. I was contacted via email in September by a recruiter requesting a phone interview with him. The phone conversation lasted about 20-25 minutes. He asked me questions such as why I wanted to work in sales, why I wanted to work in TransPerfect, if I hate to loose or love to win. He then gave me a detailed description about what the position entailed and answered some of the questions that I had. He was supposed to get back to me within 3 days and never did.
I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at TransPerfect (Research Triangle Park, NC) in Jun 2011
Interview
I was emailed by one of their HR recruiters to set up a phone interview. Then I was told to complete a writing assignment (3 of my greatest accomplishments + why I wanted to work for them) by the next morning. I was offered a 1:1 interview with a manager.
I researched the salaries for the position with this company and found them to be very low. But I agreed to go on the 1:1 interview because I was waiting to here from another job, so I figured I had nothing to lose.
On the day of my 1:1 interview, I was kept waiting in the lobby area for nearly 20 minutes until someone arrived to work in jeans and t-shirt. She barely spoke to me, but around 5 minutes later another worker came out and told me the manager was on the phone and would see me soon. Both of these workers seemed really young and very casual (meaning, not super professional).
I generally tend to do well on interviews and I'm very quick on my feet . But I felt like my interviewer began asking me questions to try and "trip me up", which didn't work. He didn't seem prepared to answer my questions. I knew I wasn't getting an offer. Even so, he told me the HR recruiter was going to get back to me "within 24 hours" to let me know "where I was in the process." The interview was on a Friday, so I didn't expect to hear anything the next day, but nobody ever got back to me.
Thankfully, the other job I was waiting to hear from gave me an offer (and fortunately, way more money than TransPerfect seems to offer new account managers).
