No real interview. Extremely poor HR experience. Have applied for positions that I could do in my sleep, but they, like all corporate monstrosities, have an online black hole. Always received a "go away" email for all of them. Received word that they wanted to interview me on an apparent "cattle call" and requirements for a 30-minute behavioral interview followed by me giving a 30 minute presentation with Powerpoint that would address how they should proceed and a discussion of theory! I'm guessing, like many companies nowadays, they're looking for free work from applicants.
No screening phone call. Just instructions to make time in my day to trek to their office in Toronto with close to zero information to work with. So, I sent along a nice note asking for clarification, how many others may be interviewed if they could release that info, and the general background they're looking for (I'm no engineer, but the questions were quite technical, unlike the job description which was more business management centric). Received the "go away" email shortly thereafter.
As Telus is part of the the wireless telephone "tri-opoly" in Canada, they apparently feel they don't need to be cordial or helpful. Their loss.
