Rippling Senior Software Engineer interview questions

Excellent interview experience. One hour technical screen, live coding session with an engineer. Then an hour meeting with the Engineering Manager, with a wonderful demo of the product, and then some conversation about previous experiences and future aspirations. Then technical onsite, which took 3hrs. Two very difficult coding exercises, and very interesting. Then a design round. They're very quick to respond. I was rejected because of the design round, in which they said they were looking for more information on DB selection. I thought that was bit harsh, since the design round was actually not that difficult and I can chalk this off to the crazy market we have right now where everyone is available for a job.

I was referred by one of my friends only to feel dissappointed. After the referral, the recruiter contacted me the very next day and we had a great chat. After that, my phone screen interview was scheduled where we spent about 40 minutes coding the solution. I gave the optimal solution but did make one silly mistake which had to be pointed out by the interviewer but I fixed it right away after it was pointed out. Otherwise, my code was very readable and I took care of all the edge cases. The next day I received the rejection email.
