SHADIEST COMPANY I'VE EVER INTERVIEWED FOR!!!!
To Rippling, "We'll come up w a package that you'll be happy with" means they'll give you b.s. excuse for over a month while shop around and interview less experienced candidates who will take the job for lower salary!!!
DO NOT, DO NOT, TELL THEM YOUR SALARY EXPECTATION! LET THEM TELL YOU FIRST!
I interviewed with countless organizations and his has got to be the most unprofessional and shadiest company.
After interview, the recruiter reached out to confirm the salary expectation and responded with we'll try to come up with the compensation that you'll be happy with and drag out the process for more than a month to tell me that they went w another candidate with no other explanation.
The interview consisted with 1st round with recruiter and 2nd round with panel interview with three individuals.
1st: the recruiter called late and was clearly flustered and only asked a few question and was in a rush to end the call.
2nd round was scheduled for weeks and weeks later
2nd: one manager and two colleagues. I asked why they worked for Rippling and two of the colleagues responded that they both hated their previous jobs and were desperate and that this offer was their saving grace. VERBATIM.
Work life balance clearly seems to be a problem as one of the mentioned that they work during the weekend.
After the interview, the recruiter called to let me know that the team was impressed with my interview and would like me to join their team! she also wanted to confirm my salary expectation. I told her my market analysis and the market average but I'm flexible. She let me know that it is above their range but given that I'm flexible she will develop a package that will make all parties will be happy with.
After that call, she gave me b.s. excuse i.e. manager is sick, headcount confirmation and dragged out the process for over month and half. I followed up on a weekly basis and I finally heard back that they went with another candidate.
It takes a simple LinkedIn search to identify their newest hire which turns out to be a recent grad who most likely had lower salary expectation.
THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT TALENT. IT CARES ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM NUMBER AND GIVING OFFERS TO THOSE WHO ARE DESPERATE FOR THE JOB AND ARE WILLING TO TAKE LOW OFFER.
Absolutely, disgusted by their manipulation and lack of professionalism and empathy for candidates. No respect for their candidates who spent lots of resources to interview and be part of their growth.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Rippling (Bengaluru) in May 2021
Interview
Interview process was very straight forward. The team at Rippling shared the whole agenda and interview process. Gives you a sense of what to expect. They even include some links to prepare for the interviews.
I applied online. I interviewed at Rippling (Westminster, CA) in Apr 2021
Interview
Applied last week and immediately received a response to take an assessment and afterward to schedule a date for the interview. It was fast and responsive which I thought was great. Unfortunately, once the interview came around, the recruiter already seemed uninterested the moment I greeted her over the phone. I talked about my background and experience after she gave a brief introduction of the company. From there I was not too sure if I should continue talking since the tone, she gave me made it clear she wanted the interview to be over. She asked simple follow up questions of my experience but when I told her the answers, I assumed it is not what she was looking for which was fine, but I would have liked feedback to improve. The interview did not even last 15 minutes, and I began to regret applying in the first place. She did not make me feel welcome but felt I was merely wasting her time. Overall, the hiring procedure need to improve. Recruiters are there to set the mood of the interview as they gather information to pick candidates, they believe should move onto the next round but if they cannot even come across as friendly and welcoming, the candidates will either mirror that attitude or become unsure of themselves and will not pass the first basic round.

Question 1
Why did you decide on applying to Rippling? What made you leave or decide to leave your current job? What is your experience in payroll? What is the compensation you were hoping for?
