I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rippling in Jan 2022
Interview
Did two rounds of interviews and was shocked at the attitude of both interviewers.
In the first, there was an ego complex/attitude from the interviewer in judging code style. The interviewer's expressions and disapproval was clear throughout the interview process. I presumed it was because they moved to Rippling from an elite NY hedgefund and was importing that behaviour.
The second interview, the interviewer simply pasted the question into the online code editor and stayed mute (physically and literally). They simply sat and watched for the whole hour.
Several clarifying questions were unanswered (they said nothing, made no obvious facial expressions and left it as an awkward silence) so the only direction was to self-lead the interview and mention all assumptions being made out loud.
At the end of the interview, they mentioned that the solution wasn't extensible enough for the initial problem.
The general engineering culture must be a dumpster fire if this is the average interviewing experience and across multiple people.

Interview
Wow. Where do I begin? The recruiting was done entirely by a bot. I applied online and the next day was set up with several interviews, for various positions. I went through each interview well prepared and with a decade of experience in the industry. The interviews seemed haphazard and disorganized, and nobody was able to answer my pointed questions about the company, goals of the business, or scope of the job. The hiring managers were disorganized and seemed inconvenienced that they were tasked with interviewing a potential candidate. Each time I asked about the role or end goals, I was met with a grumbled reply or "we will get back to you on that." In short, this company has left such a mark on me that I cannot recommend to anyone applying for a role here- the headache and constant run-around given by those with a senior position just don't seem like somewhere I'd like to grow my career.

Don't waste your time with this company!
An interview was arranged on the first call which was then rescheduled as the interviewer was not keeping well.
After rescheduling the interview, I was sent a written assessment which was supposed to be completed in 2 hours. I finished the same and submitted it.
I was given a call by another HR for the next round. This round also was rescheduled two times for the same reason that the interviewer is unwell.
The day before the interview they called to inform, the position is on hold now so we are cancelling the process!
