Rakuten Software Engineer interview questions

During an online interview, I was asked to solve a pretty simple coding question. I did not account for the edge cases, and did not fully understand the given requirements. As a result, I was scolded and berated for not accounting for said requirements. Never have I had an interview more unprofessional and embarrassing than this.

I applied online at Rakuten(Singapore). Took an hour online test followed by some off-site interviews. The process were fairly simple but getting the outcome for each interview stages took a while.
