I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Octopus Energy
Interview
Loved every stage of the interview process
- First was a 5 min call from the lovely Aasimah to talk to me through general logistics/admin
-Then a Skype interview to gain a better understanding of the job, run through the role, talk about previous experience etc, lovely chat with recruiter
- next was the assessment centre which was done online, met so many lovely fellow candidates and current employees there are so lovely and easy to get on with
- a psychometric test is also given to complete but shouldn’t through you off
- lastly a lovely chat with HR to confirm job role and more than happy to answer any questions you have!

Question 1
No difficult questions as such, just want to get to know you as a person and what you could bring to the role
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Octopus Energy (Derby, Inglaterra) in Nov 2020
Interview
Different to any other interview process, but that's a good thing!
The entire process began with a call from Aasimah at Instant Impact (who was amazing and supportive throughout, sticking to timelines she gave even whilst on annual leave!). We then moved to a video call, after which I was progressed to the next stage which was a numerical and verbal test (revise as much as you can, the time limits make this trickier than you'd think). After passing I was put through to the discovery day, which was well thought out and structured. It was clear to see a lot of thought and effort went in from management to put this together. There were mini group tasks, a 1-1 interview and Q&A round with the team including regional managers, trainers, operations management and everything in between. It was refreshing to see so many of the team so quickly, it shows a real commitment to employees from the beginning! After this we received a call back to go through the role in a little more detail and thankfully was offered the job with the start date.
I'm honestly amazed at the efforts Octopus have gone to, whilst other companies have struggled to adapt to Covid and life outside the office, Octopus are thriving. From the very beginning it was well organised, personalised and fun whilst informative. This is a company that really seems to value you as a person, not just a number on the books. Very happy to begin my Octopus career!

Applied online , heard back from aasimah for a quick initial phone call then i was invited to a 30min interview zoom call it was a very nice and pleasant experience. Unfortunately after the interview i haven't heard back since. I think feedback would have been nice considering the times we are in.
Hi there
Firstly thanks for taking the time to apply to work with us.
I'm really sorry you didn't hear from us after the interview.
I've been speaking with Aasimah and we have gone through all her candidate interaction over the last month to try and identify what happened. If we are right, you should have gotten a response by now. If not, please reach out to Aasimah again.
Your review has been helpful in reinforcing our standards for all candidate experience. Thanks for that.
Wishing you all the best with your future employment.
All the best
James Doyle
