I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Wheaton, MD) in May 2010
Interview
This was my first job interview, I was very nervous, the people seemed like snobs. The Manager, and the first girl who interviewed me, however were very nice. The first girl that interviewed me asked me about my job history, and just basic questions. I waited a while, and I was interviewed by the manager where she asked me more job history questions, availability, to describe a time i was a leader, she asked me to sale her a suit, and other things like that. But- i didn't get the job. Another Macy's wants to interview me though, I doubt i'll take that... they're pretty snobby.

Question 1
Sale Me A Suit: If A Customer Came To You And Asked You To Sale Them A Suit, How Would You Go About Doing So?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2009
Interview
Well I just went online and filled out the application which included a very long personality test that pretty much asks you the same 10 questions in different ways. About a month later, I was sent an e-mail asking to schedule an interview. I went in and just had 2 people (seperately) ask me a bunch of basic questions (experience, availability, etc.) I was hired on the spot.

Question 1
What previous retail sales experience do you have?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's in Mar 2010
Interview
After applying online, I received an email a few days later to schedule myself for an interview. I was told to go to the human resources dept., where I met with a woman who was one of the department managers for an interview. This was one of the easier interviews I've had. The woman just read a list of questions off a sheet of paper (tell me about a time you gave excellent customer service, tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer, tell me what you would say when approaching a customer on the sales floor). Even though I know I didn't make my answers as detailed as they should have been, it didn't have a negative effect on the interview. The woman was very nice and knew that I had a lot of previous experience working retail. The fact that I just was personable and acted professionally was enough to be offered a position a few minutes later.

Question 1
There was a brief role play where the interviewer played the customer and I was to try to sell her a Macy's credit account.
