The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Costa Mesa, CA) in Jun 2010
Interview
Got an email to schedule an interview. Went to macys, they were a little late, I had to wait a long time. Couple other people were waiting, too. Got called by a lady and we went into a room with no table, just computers. I thought it was a little weird. Kept referring to my other experience at another macys. Asked me what departments I would prefer, she left to go ask human resources what positions were open, she comes back in and says the departments I wanted have no openings, and I asked her about the other departments, and she told me that they arent hiring any sales associates. So why are you interviewing. Lady was very rude.

Interview
I received an email from Macy's saying they would like to give me an interview on X day and that interviews were limited on a first come first serve basis. I thought that would of meant a 1 on 1 interview well I got there and found out it was not as limited as I thought it was. 10-15 people waiting to get interviewed while 2 hiring managers were asking questions. Took about an hour before it was my turn and i didn't understand the order at which people were asked to go in. Seem more like an open call than anything
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If macys were to hire you now what can you bring to the table.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Denver, CO) in Oct 2009
Interview
Initial interview process was a surprise, I was expecting a one on one, not the group interview that happened. I was the most experienced one there and felt I was placed in the wrong group. Didn't even have to say much and was offered a job several days later.
