I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hearst (New York, NY) in Mar 2018
Interview
First contacted by recruiter on Linkedin, then a phone interview, 2 days got informed they wanted to move forwards to onsite. The onsite was 5 rounds, 30 minus with each interviewer, no algorithm or white board coding. The conversation are friendly and smoothy, but seems no like actively hiring people. No response after the onsite, no reply from recruiter for the result.

Interview
Thank goodness I have a job, this was the biggest waste of my time. My recruiter submitted my resume and it took them 3 weeks to respond, then another week to schedule (so 1 month from application). First interview was with two attorneys from the team, they were friendly and we had a great conversation.
After my first interview, it took 3 months to find out that I was invited for round two. Round two was pretty intense as I met with four people back to back, took 2 hours. They were all friendly and great, we again had a great conversation and they asked questions about my specific experience and why I wanted to join Hearst and what I have to offer.
My recruiter informed me after they finished interviewing round two candidates that I was still under consideration and then for a month I heard nothing. She said there would be round 3. I emailed my recruiter exactly a month later and she informed me they started the process all over again doing round 1. I found it strange because in all the interviews they said they needed the person to start soon and they were very busy. Thankfully I have a job currently but cannot imagine someone going through this if they are unemployed and looking.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hearst (Buffalo, NY) in Mar 2018
Interview
The entire interview lasted 3 minutes. They brought up salary immediately after I described what it is that I do in my current position, and then explained that the position pays half of what I required.
