I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hearst (New Orleans, LA) in Jan 2015
Interview
3 step process, first you meet with the managers, then the director of sales and lastly the GM of the station. Extensive reference checking. They ask a bunch of sales questions to see how you would close someone. They also ask a lot about your experience in the advertising industry.
Very formal, and multiple step interview process. First there is a phone interview, screening the client. Then there is a one on one interview within the office that is an in depth interview. Then the last phase is a panel interview, where you have several managers interviewing you during a sales pitch you are to create for them. Long and intense interview process.
