The hiring process at Databricks takes an average of 60 days when considering 2 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Big Data Architect had the quickest hiring process (on average 60 days), whereas Big Data Architect roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 60 days).
Rejected after submitting application within 30 seconds. Process was easy to apply, and good that I heard back very fast instead if having to wait for a long time for ghost
The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks in Jan 2025
Interview
Very lengthy process. I made it absolutely clear in the beginning that I am more of a Data Sciene and ML person with most of my experience being around AI and GenAI pre-sales. Even then in interview process, I was evaluate on my ability to design data pipelines. This is extremely unfair. And they DO NOT want pre-sales folks for this job. Unfortunately, they do not understand difference between pre-sales and implementation. They need Data Engineers with soft skills (even if they dont have the ability to sell). Based on my personal experience and based on hundreds of other negative experiences here on Glassdoor, I would not recommend wasting 5-6 weeks of your time here unless you are a Data Engineer.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks in Nov 2024
Interview
The entire process was quite long in my opinion. Going through 7 interview steps and not getting an offer at the end is a lot to take. Especially since so much preparation is needed for the different interview steps. And it appears as if the same questions are asked during the interviews. It was all done in around 4 weeks but unfortunately with a different hiring manager each time. It would be better if the interview process is more streamlined - especially for mid level roles. It doesn’t make sense that everyone has the same 8 step interview process irrespective of their career level. At least the people were all nice. From the recruiter down to the seven different employees I spoke with
