I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC (Toronto, ON) in May 2012
Interview
They seemed to be interested in my technical capabilities and experience more than anything else. Marketing is more numbers driven with metrics being important to determine success. They look for experience in strategic planning along with the ability to perform tactical execution. The interview process was a good experience but you need to be prepared to go into detail on how your experience relates to the position.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at CIBC (Kirkland, QC) in Aug 2016
Interview
I applied online through CIBC careers and within two days I got a phone call back from human ressources. I was asked basic questions about my career path, why I want to work at CIBC, how I deal with difficult customer situations and to go through my CV. Then I got a call for a face to face interview where I was interviewed by two people. It was pretty standard, I was asked about my education, my career goals, availability, tell me about yourself etc. The questions where straight forward and direct with no curve balls.

Question 1
Why do you want to work at CIBC?
Tell me about yourself?
What are your career goals?
What did you do at your last job?
What is your availability?
Do you have any other questions for us?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC (Calgary, AB)
Interview
First I got a call from the recruiter or talent acquisition as they call them. We had a proper interview over the phone that took about 30 minutes. It was a pleasant process although it took 3 tries for us to both be available for the interview in a quiet place.
The next interview was in person with two managers present. The questions were mostly behavioural in which you have to give a lot of scenerio examples .
The talent acquisitor writes down your response. There was also role playing. They give you a brochure of their credit cards or any of their other products. They give you a few minutes to read through it and they ask you to pretend they are the client and you have to sell them the product. Make sure you know a few of their products in case they don't let you study the brochure before asking you to role play.
I got the job but the process took about 3 weeks and they use back check for which asks for 2 to 3 professional references.
