I applied online. I interviewed at ADP (Schaumburg, IL) in Jan 2017
Interview
You go through a recruiter that will contact you. My recruiter was professional and courteous, and gave me a heads up on what I needed to prepare for. Then, you have to take a personality test as well as an online customer service test in which you are tested on how you respond to client inquiries.
I was then screened again by someone from their talent team who simply just wrote down my responses to the basic questions he asked. I wondered why my recruiter did not do this process earlier during our initial phone call.
The on-site interview was with two reporting managers and an HR personnel. I will have to say that this was one of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional interviews conducted in my experience. They started the first 5 minutes interrogating me about why I was laid off from my last job, and had the nerve to ask me, "Well if other people were kept, then why do you think they made the decision to let you go?" I thought, right then and there, that they had to set a terrible tone. In my other interviews with other employers, they understood and respected the circumstances that I was in. They proceeded to interrogate me about how difficult this job would be, and while I understand their need to weed out those that are not a good fit, their methods made it seem like ADP is an unenjoyable place to work for. Not the best way to sell your biggest company. The Schaumburg staff that conducted this interview should have no business being in management, and were terribly unprofessional and should never have gone out of their way to attack other applicants. I called the recruiter right after my interview and took myself out of the candidacy process. What a disappointment!

Question 1
Why is it that you were the one that was laid off, but other employees were kept?

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ADP (Maitland, FL) in Jun 2016
Interview
The whole process was a nightmare.
I was interviewed over the phone for about 45 mins. I was then invited to an in-person interview in Maitland, FL (I live in NYC). I had to make travel arrangements (airfare, hotel, car rental) in less than a week (which I did not mind because I felt very confident in my qualifications, and because they had considered me even when I was out of state). In Maitland, I met with: the recruiter (briefly), and two managers (a woman and a man). When I met with the managers, they seemed very un-engaged (nodding their heads like robots), and one of them was somewhat sarcastic (the man). I was asked the typical interview questions, which I answered. I met with the managers for about 45 mins. After the interview, the woman escorted me out of the office and thanked me for coming in. After two days, I received the dreaded "thank you for your time, but you're no longer being considered for this position" email. I followed up the email with an email seeking feedback, but also letting them know that they needed to best weed out their candidates (specially when the candidates were from out of state like me... it could save us money and time -- travel arrangements). I never received a response from them in regards to my email.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ADP (Norfolk, VA)
Interview
This was the most unprofessional process I have ever dealt with. Had a phone interview within a few days of applying. About a week later, had a f2f interview and heard nothing for 2 weeks. As far as I know the interview went very well. One of the ladies even let me know that I had a very good energy and she seemed very interested. Waited 2 weeks and heard nothing. So then after seeing someone's interview experience on glassdoor that was similar to mine, I went online to check my status since I had not received direct contact. Just like the other person they failed to contact me directly. To interview someone twice and feel you do not need to contact them directly to let them know they have not been selected is unprofessional. I have never experienced this after having not one but TWO interviews.
Sorry to heat that you had this negative experience. If you would like to contact us with more details at adp_talent_community@adp .com we would be better able to escalate the issue and improve our interview process. Thank you.
