Pros

- Very stable environment, never had to do any extra hours in 2 years - Most of the time there was few to no pressure nor deadlines - Experience in a big company with millions of users - Ok salary for the job you're doing

Cons

- Boring, repetitive job. Most of the time it has to do with looking into code from 5+ years ago no one knows what it's supposed to do and figuring it out - Involves very little actual programming - A big problem is 90% of developers has been less than one year in the company so there's really very little people who know anything at all about the application. Each week talented people leave the company because it fails to provide anything interesting for them - No one really cares about you doing your job, it doesn't matter if you take 2 days or 1 month to complete a task. There's people procrastinating for whole days and everybody knows it but management doesn't care - Bad team working, many people just try to fly under the radar to avoid problems for themselves and don't care that they are leaving loads of crap for others in the future. When you ask for help many people will try to brush you off as quickly as possible and have no real interest in helping others. There's also some great people as well though - No contact with product, you have no idea what's the benefit or impact of your work although repeatedly asking "why are we doing this?" - No room for change. If you don't like the team you are assigned to initially you might as well change jobs because management is extremely against people moving to other areas (although HR will constantly tell you the company does everything to retain talent) - Management don't care at all about you, in my personal experience the manager didn't answer to any of my emails or requests for a meeting to talk about my situation in the company. They come to ask you to bugfix stuff when there is a problem though - Very bureocratic, very little space for innovation although repeatedly being told to innovate. You are told if you don't do interesting things it's your fault. But really, you can't unless you are part of the friends club that run the company, and have contacts in arquitecture, production service and management areas

Pros

Smart developers and a good product team Fast paced with a good test and learn approach in pricing and product Customer service making genuine improvements Modern well designed offices

Cons

Fear culture stemming from the CEO down Upward management overvalued C level execs who get far too caught up in the minutiae Knowledgeable people with very little recognition Experts at death by powerpoint Dana appears to take pleasure in publicly humiliating people Real lack of long term vision; quarter to quarter focus Exec team who struggle to tackle conversion issues A real disconnect between how junior people see the culture vs. senior people Meeting after meeting after meeting Salary gulf between senior staff and junior people is shocking

Pros

The headquarters are gorgeous, very modern office located in a centric part of Barcelona it's perfect to work and then go out for a beer, shopping, taking a walk, etc. People is very friendly, helpful, from different nationalities which makes it a very international environment. Flexible (very flexible) working hours. And you leave at 3 pm on Fridays. If you manage to negotiate well your salary, you can get a really nice deal.

Cons

The management is terrible, very old fashion, without a clear view of what the future of the company should be. They just go changing plans and key people every 2 months without solving anything. Numbers are bad, so they base all decisions on that without any clear strategy. They don't treat employees as good as you'd expect. Depending on the team, you can get a really bad deal in terms of salaries and conditions. Old technology, long development times that kills the Agile methodology.
