Too many lies

Pros

It was a great team before mass layoffs with big plans for the future.

Cons

Workday management made significant layoffs in Prague, about 45% of people were laid off in 2025, mostly recent hires. R&D of People Analytics, the principal product developed in Prague has been expanding into India in 2025 just after layoffs, which is a typical red flag and could mean the company wants to outsource all of it eventually to India with proper knowledge transfer which cannot take place in an instant. Any new hire risks being hired just to keep the lights on for the transfer. Numerous people left the company who were not impacted by layoffs as they stopped believing in management. Even engineering director left. Much of the technical aspects of People Analytics are Workday specific and will not be relevant for your next job. The solution is quite convoluted with a lot of unused dead code that should have been removed many years ago. Do not expect any revolution or make a significant contribution to get a promotion. After the layoffs it's a keep the lights on type of project. This company managed to trick a big number of skilled engineers into joining it, laying them all off after a few months or a year for more lucky ones. This will very negatively reflect on their CVs and careers. Workday Prague has no reputation left. Workday values is a lie, the company is just looking to exploit your knowledge and dump you when no longer needed, same as other companies. If you are considering joining Workday Prague, seriously consider what happened to previous new joiners and whether a project with risk of being moved to India is worth joining.

Pros

Great company to work for with amazing people. Sales managers and wider team are incredibly supportive and great to work with. Metrics and KPIs not too strict compared to other sales companies. Depending on which patch you have you can do extremely well in your commission with many hitting 150-200% each quarter with normal 9-5 working hours.

Cons

Flip-side of making loads of commission is if your are assigned a difficult industry or patch you can really struggle to even hit target. Unfortunately the Rules of Engagement (ROE) and recent Quotas have increased making it very difficult/impossible for some to hit target. This is a huge issue which has been easily proven as a territory problem and not a skill issue with the employees as when employees moved patch, their performance was directly correlated with their territory. High turnover rate due to very limited promotions available (Could also been seen as a positive thing as AE's typically dont move on from Workday once they join)

A company in decline sadly

Pros

The company used to be a genuinely great place to work. It had an employee-first culture, clear strategic leadership, and a compelling long-term vision. Compensation and benefits were competitive, and there was a real sense of teamwork and purpose. Many of my colleagues were talented, motivated people who made coming to work enjoyable.

Cons

Over time, the employee-first culture has eroded. Compensation has been reduced, and benefits have been taken away without meaningful alternatives. Layoffs have resulted in heavier workloads for those who remain, essentially asking people to do more for less. The company has lost its sense of strategy and vision, with leadership now focused almost entirely on short-term cost cutting. What’s most demoralizing is the disconnect between what leadership says and what employees experience—leaders continue to insist that employees are the top priority, when actions clearly show otherwise. This disconnect makes it harder to trust management and harder to stay motivated.
