Pros

The house we lived in was lovely. Rooms big, full equipment, minus Wi-Fi. Was about a 7 bedroom house in the middle of nowhere. However, I hate to think of how much the rent was, coming out of the charity.

Cons

Morally, I disagree with Wesser, I was told by my fellow employees that you have to force sales. Be persistent. Nag. You get told if you don't get enough sales, not donations. Then you'll go home. Which is the case. Be prepared for one day off a week, and you'll work up to 60 hours just to get your targets. Yeah, money is good, but you'll work all the time. You'll get rejection, and crap from your team. It's just not worth it at all.

Thank you for your feedback, however, we would like address a number of false statements, some of which have been reported to Glassdoor.co.uk. - The live-in fundraising model utilized by the business has no impact on cost to our charity partners. All costs in relation to accommodation and maintenance are funded by the fundraising organisation. - We do not operate a hard sales environment. All fundraisers are trained in-line with industry guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all potential donors. - Fundraising working hours are limited to 35 hours per week (5 days). The business/management would simply not allow fundraisers to work a 60 hour week. - All Team Leaders/Managers undergo a full CRB/DBS checks. This is in addition to numerous background checks made during the recruitment process. - An industry leading remuneration package is offered to all fundraisers. This is a combination of an hourly rate, plus a bonus structure that incentivises ethical fundraising. - The organisation has operated since 1968 and has delivered in excess of £250,000,000 in donations to over 25 international charities. Every year over 500 fundraisers are recruited to enable the business to continue to deliver an outstanding fundraising service. Should you wish to discuss any of the above points, please do not hesitate to contact our fundraising administration team on: 01462 704 860. Alternatively you can email us at: enquiries@wesser.co.uk

Pros

The only thing I actually enjoyed while working for Weser was a few of the people I met that I am still friends with today.

Cons

Not being told about the money that I would have to pay out and ended up not having enough money for food then sending a 19 year old girl out by herself in a place she Dosent know. Anything could have happened to me, then when you get something stolen from you nothing happens about it. I received no proper training and was left to get on with it then got slated when I didn't do as well as they expected and having my accent (I'm Scottish) slagged by one of the team leaders constantly (usually wouldn't annoy me but it was constant) the best thing I done was leave. Apart from a few of the people I met it was the worst job I've ever had.

Pros

To be fair to this company they do try very hard as a direct marketing company to support you in what is normally a very hard business. The general outlay is clearly very thought out as I have worked in the other end of the spectrum where you are self employed and have to front it all yourself, where as at Wesser this is not the case. You are employed - with an hourly rate. I never had any problems with it, I'm sure you will see people that say they didn't get paid, that's probably because they didn't work. They also look after you very well. You live in a house completely free of charge (all your bills included) as well as if you are a drive they pay you to be a company driver. all your traveling costs are looked after and generally a very nice and easy going company. They also will fund you in other life ambitions - so if you want to learn to drive or learn Spanish or even go off and do something else they will subsidise it.

Cons

I don't really have anything bad to say about this company, most of the bad things put on here have been down to personal experience - some said about fines witch made me apprehensive but they fines are only their if you break something etc etc . .
