Pros

Work for a recognized name. Usually pretty flexible with work schedule. Retail gives you an appreciation for anyone else working in retail sales.

Cons

Lower than average pay. Incompetant middle management, upper management is not much better. Decent benefits package, but small in-store discount. Individual managers are not aware of what other managers are doing. One manager will give you a task and explain how it should be done, and the other manager will tell you that your methodology is incorrect, or that you shouldn't be doing said task.

Pros

Job security since this is a major player. Must deal with the reality of cost cutting includes salary and benefits.

Cons

As above. The salary and benefit package is gear around savings for the company. Otherwise ok place to work full time.

Pros

You can make your own schedule if you catch enough shoplifters. You can also wear what you want every day.

Cons

The worst part is pay. I maxed out for my compensation and that is only $11.20 an hour. Absolutely ridiculous.
