Pros

Good company to work for, if you are willing to work.

Cons

Promotions to upper positions can be a joke, You have to interview for them but they already have someone picked for the jobs.

Pros

I would say that the pros of working at Walmart are fewer than I expected. Maybe it was just because of the location I was at. There were several nice people that I worked with, and some of the management was good.

Cons

The other people that worked there were not there to work. Which made it very hard to be there trying to work hard and do a good job> I felt like I was pulling most everyone else's slack. Which is not a good motivating environment.

Pros

Wal-mart has a lot of opportunity. The corporation is strong and I believe will be stronger during the next 10 years. I do believe if you work hard and show initiative and team work that you will move up! I know I have.

Cons

The pay is sub-standard as they move towards more part-time associates who seem to think showing up to work is an accomplishment in itself. It takes a lot of weed out those who show up vs. those who actually work! The lower level associates complain constantly and for those who are actually working I understand. For those who stand around, disappear, or are insubordinate to the simplest of requests, I do not understand. If you want to make $15.00 an hour get some skills. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to empty boxes or say, "How may I help you".
