Pros

- Laid back office - Hybrid work arrangement - Flexible hours - On-site Gym - Breakfast/Lunch provided - Clients love our products. I've never had clients giving shout outs for feature releases on social media before but it is inspiring to hear how much a difference our products make for them. - Our products have tangible benefits to the community by improving health outcomes. - Minimal red-tape - VALDCon! Once a year all staff from all over the world come to HQ for a week of learning, events and knowledge transfer. It generates a real sense of community that helps once everyone goes back home. - When building product the focus primarily is on if our users will want it. Very rarely is it a cost/benefit discussion. Senior Management take the view of just building the product we want and trusting that the money will follow. - The business has a promising ARR trajectory and has been meeting it's targets.

Cons

- Minimal red-tape sometimes results in having to find your own way on how to work something out (which can be good or bad depending on the situation) - Frustration at times not being able to deliver product at a pace I'd like due to technical hurdles (this is something we are getting better at as we mature and scale) - Business is still growing and maturing. Whilst on the one hand it is nice to be part of that journey and help shape it. On the other hand sometimes it can be frustrating.

Pros

VALD is a very fast-growing company, which means that the work is very rewarding, and unsurprisingly the expectations are also very high (that is the part that's not for everyone). Staff are given a lot of independence to make their own decisions and taking initiative is rewarded. New job opportunities regularly arise because of how quickly the company is growing and internal promotions are common. The team is great - I really like everyone I worth with both on a personal and professional level. The work is also genuinely very interesting - the opportunity to work on new health and sports technologies like VALD's is essentially non-existent in Brisbane and new projects are constantly popping up. Having worked on developing new products for some time now, I can confidently say there aren't many companies like VALD out there. The flipside is that expectations are very high, so the work can be stressful at times, particularly coming up to deadlines. I've done a fair few late nights during these periods. However, I've never heard of any high-performing environment where that wasn't the case, and for me the payoff is worth it. There is nothing quite like delivering a new product to market then seeing it outperform expectations. Reading some of the negative reviews on Glassdoor, I feel like some former staff have blown these stresses out of proportion. I don't deny these people have clearly had a very negative experience, but what some of them describe just doesn't match anything I've seen in my time there. For people considering employment at VALD, I would not let these put you off taking an interview - they should just reinforce that VALD isn't for everyone. If you want low-stress work from 9-5 and limited responsibilities outside of that, VALD is probably not for you. If you want challenging, fast-paced work, freedom to make decisions, working with other high-performers and the opportunity to work on some really exciting tech, VALD is probably the best company you could possibly work for in Brisbane. Speaking for myself and a few others I'm aware of, I think the remuneration is at a very good level without being right the top of the market. Seems like every review on here also mentions the perks like the food, coffee and gym. I don't think they should be the main reason you take a job at VALD, but they are great.

Cons

VALD is growing very quickly. There have been over 100 new staff added since I started. So unsurprisingly, many processes and systems can't quite keep up, which can sometimes lead to inefficiencies and miscommunication. But the systems do continually get better over time, and I think this will continue to just be a minor downside to all the exciting things that come with rapid growth. And again, the work can be pretty stressful at times, but I don't think it's possible to achieve really rewarding things without that.

Pros

A place where you feel welcome and valued! There are so many great things about working at Vald, to list some of them: - Great diversity. There are colleagues from different cultures, gender, background and age groups. - Highly skilled colleagues - Everyone is very approachable and keen to help. (I learn something new every day). - The management have monthly private meetings with you to provide and receive feedback. - Parties, team-building activities and awards throughout the year. (Including olympics where all overseas employees come to brisbane for a week of work and fun activities). -Career growth. (Since I have joined Vald, I have seen many people being promoted) - The company is open to learn new processes or approaches to improve outcomes and communication between teams. - International trip opportunities to visit clients. - Breakfast and lunch, every day a different meal, prepared by 2 in-house chefs - even if you have a special dietary, they adapt the menu of the day to suit you. - in-house barista. Extremely friendly and always know how you like your coffee. - In-house gym. You can use the facility for free (before work, during lunch break or after work). - In-house R&D/Physio clinic. Which you can access and test products and have real feedback in real time. - In-house masseuse twice a week for a very affordable price (or for free if you have private health insurance). - At Vald, you receive not one or two, but FIVE (!!!) different branded t-shirts and a choice of a hoodie or zipped jacket for free, which is great, so you don't need to worry about doing the washing many times during the week.

Cons

Parking is a bit tricky, as the company is growing and for being located in a very busy area, there are not many parkings available (for those who prefer to drive) - unless you are happy to use public transport (train station wak distance and bus stop a couple of steps away)
