      Keep believing, but keep your options open.

      Pros

      There are many project specific job opportunities. The company heratage gives one reason to believe that Unisys could be be much more of a market leader. The company pay and benefits are middle of the road, especially in this tough job environment. New leadership has brought a renewed sense of optimisim.

      Cons

      The company is in trouble as a viable on going concern. Despite new leadership, there is a decent probabilty of bankruptcy and/or breakup in '09. Cost cutting cannot happen fast enough which put all non-client facing staff at risk for job cuts. That said, individual practices will probably do well, especially Federal and HIM.

      Work Schedule Flexibilty High, but so are the Political Games

      Pros

      work Schedule Flexibility is wonderful, with work from home options available

      Cons

      Very political environment, a lot of game playing, a lot of time with negative outcomes for employees and getting the job done. Some of this exists at every company, but it's extreme at Unisys.

      great for experience, sux for careers

      Pros

      The job was the best one could have, at least as far as the work goes. Some long days, some incredibly short, if you are good and get your work done at a good pace.

      Cons

      It is run by bean counters. The numbers don't always tell the story and that is why Unisys is circling the drain: no visionaries, no imagination. When I started there, seven years ago, the stock was trading at ~$34. It's around 57 cents today. I look to the doors closing in 2009.
