      Unisys chose to save money by cutting employee benefits instead of fixing poor management practices.

      Pros

      Many talented people work there. It used to be a great company to work for.

      Cons

      High turnover of talented people. Unisys seems to have difficulty retaining real talent becuse of their low salary and poor management practices. Poor communication between management and lower level staff . Instead of fixing poor management practices and waste, Unisys chose to save money by freezing pay increases, cutting back employee benefits, cutting and reducing sick leave and reducing health insurance coverage. The health insurance used to be one of the best available, but now is almost as bad as not having insurance. I lost respect for Unisys when they outsourced their internal helpdesk to India. IT support is supposed to be what Unisys is all about.

      Great unfullfilled potential, company at an inflexion point

      Pros

      Great legacy, smart technical employees, global exposure, marquee clients. I was there for 15 years, and have travelled to over 45 countries, and worked with phenomenal people. With clients like NASDAQ, American Express, US Federal govt, UK Metropolitan Police, The variety of interaction is unparalleled.

      Cons

      Financial performance, complex matrix structure, unfocused portfolio. Unisys suffers from a small company behaving like a big company syndrome. At one point it was the second largest IT firm after IBM, but miscue, lack of direction, missed opportunities have made its future less than bright. There is too much overhead, and disjointed portfolio, and a lack of investment in the marketing and sales.

      Pros

      It is a good environment for gaining new skills. The training is well planned. You have access to many experts that can help you grow. They are flexible with your schedule and after demonstrating you work ethic you may get the choice to work from home

      Cons

      You aren't appreciated for performing well. Often all they care about is the numbers. You don't need to do a good job as long as you can look good on a spreadsheet for billable hours.
