Pros

This Global company has opportunities everywhere within the company. The resources available to you to accomplish just about any goal with a client or internally that you would need

Cons

bureaucratic nightmare. Established processes can take over a year to complete. Changes are very slow to take effect. Promotions and pay raises are usually 8-12 months before actual changes take effect.

Pros

Unisys provides opportunities to get started in IT. If you are willing to work through their processes, which most employees are not, Unisys can be a great place to start a career.

Cons

If you do work through the processes, don't anticipate being rewarded for it. Upward mobility in this company may be available to those who work at the headquarters and major satellite locations. If you are in a field office, though, it's not going to happen.

Pros

Unisys is liberal in its hiring practices. It stresses non-descrimination on the bases of sex, race, religion, and sexual orientation. I believe it tries to provide the best benefits it can afford to give.

Cons

There is a lack of leadership. One often feels that the company or department one works in is running rudderless. The one main project I was involved in was thrown together without forthought or planning. It involved traing new people to take over a number of functions, but no training material was prepared and not enough time was given to the training. I also feel that the management doggedly sticks to its outsourceing policies when they are at times to the detriment of the company, its customers, and employees. An example would be that IT fixes must route to India where the problem is worked by workers who are following a script and not by a worker who is onsite and who might have greater intuition about the problem.
