Pros

It is a good place to start your career here if you do not have ideas about your future plans. You can learn lots of things, also using your languages is important. Here you can do it. It is located in the heart of Budapest, which is also OK.

Cons

Too much pressure on the agents, supervisors do not communicate with the employees (do not even greet them sometimes) unless there is a deep friendship. Some accounts have really useless, terrible procedures. It is very phone based, there are strict break regulations (30 min lunch break, 60 min short break). The largest problem is that in some positions they have very incompetent people (Subject Matter Experts for example). It is hard to get to a higher position - sometimes the internal job postings are mailed to everyone but the position itself has already been filled...so they have chosen the one.

Pros

This company continued to hire even through some of the more difficult economic times. If you worked with this company long enough, it seemed as though they had some work from home opportunities.

Cons

Management was poor. Most managers are not in the same physical location as you, so you never get to meet them face to face. In order to get a straight answer from anyone, you had to "jump through" a ton of hoops. No career advancement what so ever. Favoritism among team mates was very evident.

Pros

Unisys is liberal in its hiring practices. It stresses non-descrimination on the bases of sex, race, religion, and sexual orientation. I believe it tries to provide the best benefits it can afford to give.

Cons

There is a lack of leadership. One often feels that the company or department one works in is running rudderless. The one main project I was involved in was thrown together without forthought or planning. It involved traing new people to take over a number of functions, but no training material was prepared and not enough time was given to the training. I also feel that the management doggedly sticks to its outsourceing policies when they are at times to the detriment of the company, its customers, and employees. An example would be that IT fixes must route to India where the problem is worked by workers who are following a script and not by a worker who is onsite and who might have greater intuition about the problem.
