Pros

They pay well above minimum wage and the benefits are good(even though you only receive them after a year of employment).

Cons

When me and 3 other coworkers were hired we were told about pay being 9.50 from day one, benefits starting by the 3rd month, and raises every August and February. They did NOT tell us that policies had changed, so instead we started at 8.50, had to wait 3 months to get pay bumped up to 9.50, didn't get benefits until after a year, and no raises(other than after the 3 month probation period) during the 1st year. I worked at the airport hub which required waking up at 4 in the morning (excruciating!). The company decided to cut corners and bring in less planes, so hours were cut to a mere hour and 45 minutes a day!

Pros

UPS is a great company to work for as a part-time hourly. They provide all the same benefits to their part-time employees as they do to the full-time employees. Another pro is that UPS only promotes from within their own company so if you start with them at a young age you can expect your pay to increase with your seniority

Cons

Only cons are in regards to management not hourly employees. If you are not educated above a high school degree DO NOT become a part-time supervisor at UPS. You will be stuck in this position for the remainder of you life with UPS. I personally know of at least two part-time supervisors who have been with UPS upwards of 10 years. They are both great at their job and have more than enough experience and expertise to be successful full-time supervisors. Sadly however, they do not have college degrees and therefore are suck in the lowly position of part-time supervisor indefinitely. In other words, if anyone out there in UPS world is thinking about going the management route without a college degree..... DON'T DO IT!!!!
