Pros

Decent benefits, after a few decades you might be a driver making decent money

Cons

Dealing with unreasonable volume per period of time. I moved about 30,000 pounds per night five nights a week, and often boxes would pile up. Co-workers drank energy drinks or did coke and let their definition of manliness influence them to break their bodies in the name of competitive labor productivity. I was trying to go at a rate that I felt was less threatening to my body, tried to be aware of my posture and physical procedure, but after two months I got shooting pains in my shoulders and wrists.

Pros

Tuition assistance, good starting pay when going into management, and great work experience/resume booster due to public's outside view.

Cons

Costly health benefits, not much upper level opportunities in management, company culture treats union employees like enemies, consistently told to do union work, contradiction in work orders, some upper management are incompetent and not right for the job. HORRIBLE STARTING WAGE FOR UNION EMPLOYEES! YOU ARE WARNED!

Pros

Decent pay (compared to minimum wage)-9.50/hour Good growth potential Union (after 30 days on the job) Benefits Lots of hours (during holiday season)-some weeks you will work 50 hours Off on Weekends (Saturdays optional) Very simple work day (for the most part you do the same thing every single day)

Cons

8-9+ hours of back breaking work per day Usually odd hours (midnight 'til around 8AM, some days later) Little to no communication from upper management Inconsistent work days (Some days will be very busy, others very, very slow) Union (after 30 days on the job) Occasionally messes up Over Time pay Boring work Some managers are dicks, others are cool. Way too often short handed on workers, sometimes do the job of 2-3 people. Only one 10 minute break per day (no lunch break). Very simple work day (for the most part you do the same thing every single day)
