      Company respects the experieince of staff and during the downturn did everything possible to not get rid of personnel

      As with any company of several thousand or more employees the bureaucracy can be stifling

      A Good Company with a Public Safety Mission

      Pros

      1. One of the best reasons to work at UL is the belief in the Public Safety mission. The main and only focus is ensuring that normal everyday products that you and your family find on your store shelves are safe from any electrical, mechanical or fire hazards. You can't help but feel good about that. 2. The environment is friendly with a good racial and gender mix of employees.

      Cons

      Changes....and there are a lot of em. There are implementations of new processes that have not been successful. Some of the software is old and slow actually inhibiting the mission to be the Be the Fastest, Highest Quality, Most Client Friendly safety certification organization in the world.
