Pros

Nothing to share, because read below.

Cons

I have to tell this story because what happened at Typeform is really a first for me in 15 years of professional career. I was never treated with such disregard and lack of professional respect. I interviewed with Typeform in October/November 2023, in parallel with 2 other (big)tech companies. I got to offer stage with all 3. While Typeform did not have the strongest offer in TC, they made serious efforts to match my expectations and sold a lot of hope, like an upcoming exit-event. They also provided great flexibility as a remote-first company. I accepted the offer at Typeform and proceeded to quit the role I currently had and also decline the 2 other offers I received. Then, 1 week before Christmas, the VP of People called me to tell me they rescind the offer and will not provide any support, neither financial, nor logistical, to be able to find another role. As a reason I was told that all hiring is frozen as a of executive changes. The VP of People deflected all responsibility in the call from himself -> to the board, so that he could feel "blameless" on the call and go on about how "this is so hard for him to do". Yeah, I can only imagine how hard this is for YOU, dude. This says EVERYTHING you need to know about this company. From all the people I met in the interviewing process that promised the moon & stars, not one of them came back to me to at least say "I'm sorry". While I am generally confident in my abilities and will bounce back from this, I could have done without this Xmas gift. :) My advice: during the interview process you will get sold very well on stories about how Typeform changed and how things are different now because "we have new, strong management". They are incredibly good at selling. Don't believe it. This is the type of company that will leave you out in the cold for the holidays and not think twice about it. :) Terrible business outlook for the next year - don't even consider it.

Pros

Good health insurance benefits for US employees

Cons

When I was interviewing I was told I'd have this great flexible schedule, and in my second month it was completely changed. My complaints were met with handwaving about "business needs." So either the management team is disorganied and they had no idea that a massive departmental change to employees' schedules was about to be made - or they misled me during the interview. Either way it's a glaring red flag and if I would have known the truth it would have been a factor when comparing offers. If flexibility is important to you, don't make the mistake I did and take promises from Typeform about this at face value.

A Culture of Bullies

Pros

The handful of genuinely hardworking and kindhearted people. I hope they find another employer in the future.

Cons

The worst experience in my entire career. There’s a reason the overall rating of Typeform went from almost a 5, to 3 on Glassdoor in a year or less. Very toxic work environment and culture. I felt gaslit constantly by the leadership team and was tossed from manager to manager who kept requiring me to “prove myself” in my role, despite repeatedly being told I deserved a promotion. I never had a fighting chance at this company and their promises of career paths and a future were a flat out lie. I do not recommend Typeform as a company to work for unless you’d like to question your self worth every day. Keep looking for another employer who empowers and educates their managers and leadership on how to treat, and speak professionally, to their employees. The perks are not worth the mental drain this company will have on you. The leadership in HR consists in of the most incompetent, and non-people person leader I have ever crossed paths with. They never made themselves available to the team and ignored feedback in the engagement survey on ways to improve the culture and overall morale of the HR team. If you’re not in the inner circle of HR leadership, you’re ostracized and definitely made to feel the effects of it. Don’t join this company unless you’re okay with a 50% chance that your role will be terminated in a few months as the priorities, strategy and overall direction of the company changes every day. Typeform is a sinking ship with the complete inability to properly manage profits to sustain long term growth for itself and its employees.
