Pros

You can work from anywhere.

Cons

Jobs aren’t always available and the incredibly low pay makes it not worth the effort.

I'm sorry that you feel that it's not worth the effort. Did you try to join the special teams, like First Draft, QuickStep, and TME Special Styles? The general pool usually works as an introductory level, so that workers can become familiar with the style guide and TranscribeMe's workflows in general. As such, the pay is less than the pay for other teams and projects. However, the idea is for transcribers not to stay in the general pool, but to advance and have access to different file types and pay rates. Many people who are on higher level teams feel that it's worth the effort to move up and continue working. As for jobs not always being available, TranscribeMe depends on its clients to send work in, so how much work is available at a time is not entirely in our hands. Again, there is normally a greater amount of available work if you move past the general pool.

Hi, and thanks for your opinion. The US$20 limit for withdrawal is there because TM pays PayPal any associated fees so that all the transcriptionists that work with us receive the complete amount they've earned. And you're right, the Stamper exam is one of the hardest ones on TM, precisely because that's the kind of file that you'll be working on. People have to prove they can correctly identify and timestamp speakers before they can be given that kind of file to work on so that we can ensure the quality and accuracy of the file promised to our clients. However, if you don't want to do that particular exam, you can take the QS or QA exam and once you pass you can also access stamper files. I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have further comments or questions.

Pros

I like working for TranscribeMe because you will always get the help you need when you need it. There is a very helpful and professional team to review your progress and steer you in the right direction. It's simple math really; the more you work, the more your work improves and the more you get access to jobs that pay more. No shortcuts. And payment is prompt too. I couldn't be happier.

Cons

I've tried to think of one, but still coming up short. I just love working for this company.
