Pros

You learn a lot to take elsewhere and have some other company benefit from it.

Cons

* hardcore sales - no time to build actual relationships with clients due to unrealistic goals * a lot of overtime * not just stressful (hey, which job isn't) but actually disstressing a lot of the time * cultural differences are not taken into account * elbow mentality * unfair commission payments once you resign * you have to be available pretty much 24/7 if you want to have your clients (and therefore your commission) properly covered and you also have to travel quite a bit yet no laptops or smartphones are provided - which should be standard these days * sustainability is not something that matters to management * if you read headlines like “The most psychologically abusive institution I've ever been part of” - believe it! it's true

Pros

Nothing to be thankful in working at this miserable place.

Cons

You will attacked and abused if you make a small mistake. You will be bullied if you leave on time after working 10hrs a day with 15 mins of lunch break. Too many rats sneaking behind your back to your manager. Everybody is terrified to loose their job because your not good enough meaning your not willing to out 14hrs a day of free labor and no over time. One advise all the good reviews all fake believe me! You wont know it unless if you enter this miserable place.

Pros

I've been with the company 6 months and I want to publicly thank TransPerfect for giving me the best job I've ever had. I currently work here and couldn't be happier. Before I accepted my position, I read the reviews on this site. To those who commented negatively, I don't know how your time was spent at TransPerfect, so I can't argue your postings. What I can say, however, is that I feel truly lucky to be a part of this company. If you are reading this post, and thinking about joining the company, don't give all your attention to the negative responses. Please read mine too. First thing's first, to work at TransPerfect, you have to work really hard...there's no question about it. At the very least, I work from 8:30AM to 6:30PM everyday. And for a majority of that time, I'm busy. In fact, "swamped" would be a better way to categorize it. But I love the feeling of being nearly overwhelmed. I work with numerous people that rely on me to do my part to ensure the company's success. I appreciate the responsibility I've been given and feel proud to be involved in so many major projects. You have to work hard here because your boss will absolutely put their trust in you. Let me be frank, this is not a company for those that need their hand held or require a lot of supervision or motivation. Almost from day 1, my boss has relied on me to make things happen. He gives me enough freedom to run my own show, but he keeps an eye out for when I make a mistake and is ALWAYS there when I have a question. Further, and this is why my job is really great, my boss knows my department inside and out. He worked his way up through the ranks and it shows. I respect my boss more than I can say and I consider myself lucky to learn from him everyday. He's a real standup guy and it makes me work harder to keep things running smoothly for him. Lastly, the people I work with inspire me to push myself. TransPerfect is flooded with talent, vigor, and ambition. As I said, at minimum I work 9 hours a day, and a lot of the time I pull 11 and 12 hour days, but I can virtually guarantee you that there will always be someone at their desk when I leave. If you work here, you get to sit beside people who want the responsibility of a project's success put on their shoulders. For me, this is a huge motivator and it makes me push my boundaries, expand my talents, and meet goals that exceed what I ever thought possible. I love my job.

Cons

I wish I was paid a bit more, but it seems like the company promotes from within:)
