Pros

Strong senior leadership. Continually working to innovate. An organization that drives to it's mission statement from the top down. Stable during a tough economy.

Cons

Middle management does not exhibit the same ethics and integrity as senior leadership. Too many layers and outdated systems create inefficiencies. Heavy workloads and expectations affect work/life balance.

Pros

I enjoyed the work I was given, and liked that my boss wasn't in my cube multiple times a day asking for a status report. There is a nice rotational program for new employees during the first two years.

Cons

The thing that struck me most when I first joined CIGNA was the lack of face-to-face communication between people. Instead of walking over and discussing something, emails would be sent between employees. This seemed very counterproductive, and made the environment very dry and alienating.
