Pros

They pay reasonably competitively, and if you're fresh out of college there are pretty good developmental opportunities to move up quickly.

Cons

Though retail is usually considered an "over-worked and under-paid" type of job, Target in the past few years has been taking this to a whole new level. Staff counts have been shrinking like crazy, and in the meantime overall quality expectations have been going UP (and they were already fairly high throughout the years). The company is really struggling to make money, and it shows with how they treat their workers and handle their customers. The culture is full of desperation and blame-throwing. This is not a place I would recommend working.

Pros

The amount of leadership shaping that goes on in a good store is fantastic and can set you up for future challenges and the ability to handle them.

Cons

Bad management can lead to store issues, and retail environment changes a lot.
